Existing Drip Edge

Gutter is slipped under existing
drip edge.
Sampson bracket installed over
flange of drip edge.

  Gutter Apron
Tack gutter in place. Slip apron under shingle.

Install Sampson Hanger





Installing below existing drip edge.

Attach gutter with Sampson hangers
below drip edge.
Water will leak behind the gutter
so use an apron.

Slip apron over drip edge and
tack under shingle.
Do not remove an existing drip edge
because the shingles will sag and break.

Findings: Be sure the back of your gutters are tucked behind metal trim.
